A wanted parolee led police on a high speed chase on Thursday from Contra Costa County to a Fairfield apartment, where the suspect was taken into custody.

The 21 year old parolee, was arrested on suspicion of a parole violation after Fairfield police had to subdue him with pepper spray. He was wanted in connection with a Pinole Police Department fraud case and was spotted in a green Honda by Hercules police when a chase proceeded.

The chase reached speeds of over 90 miles per hour. He led California Highway Patrol officers and Hercules police officers, eastbound along Interstate 80 into a Fairfield and through city streets until he settled on the Parkway Gardens apartments on El Basset Court.

Police set up a perimeter and took cover behind an armored vehicle until a team of officers and a K-9 officer were ready to make their entrance into the apartment complex. Police officers found the suspect in the attic of an apartment unit that was reported as his home address. He was arrested and taken into custody.

Collision Near Goldendale Reported Last Friday
